Tibet enchants tourists from China and abroad with its landscape, religious traditions, culture, and its unsolved mysteries. At any mention of this land, the images of snowy mountains, mirror-like lakes, Potala Palace and Buddhist disciples immediately come to mind.Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) occupies one eighth of the China’s territory. Due to its high altitude, it is often called the 'Roof of the World' and the 'Third Pole of the Earth'. It boasts the world's highest peak, the splendid Mount Everest, and the Tibetan Plateau, where the Yangtze River and Yellow River both begin.

Non-Chinese Residents are required to apply for a Tibet Entry Permit before you go to Tibet.Tourists are permitted to book their accommodation and flight/train tickets; however, tours of Tibet must be organized by and accompanied by an authorized travel agency. A permit can be applied from the Tibet Tourism Bureau by local travel agencies with travelers’ passport copy, visa copy as well as a confirmed schedule in Tibet.
Due to the cold weather & high altitude, the best time to visit Tibet is from May to October when it is warmer and the oxygen content is higher. Among which July and August are the peak Season. Winter time is also a good choice if for cheaper price, less crowd.
